Custom Synthesis (Case 1)

A biotech company contacted us for preparing a highly active compound on the scale of milligrams. They needed a reliable supplier for a bigger quantity to be used during in vivo assays in the USA. The route was not the longest we have done, only eight steps, plus one for an starting material, but a critical step was a cyclization where four chiral centres were created. Activity of the compound was dependent on the exact stereochemistry of the compound. Unreliable results were reported on that stage.

The synthesis was accomplished and the product prepared on schedule. Additionally, the client requested that the product should be formulated with a delivery system which was critical for the in vivo activity. GalChimia purchased the vehicle and formulated the compound. The product was reported to have ‘a higher activity’ than expected, since previous batches of compound were not pure enough.
