Review of the month : Pressure chemistry
The influence of pressure in the outcome of the chemical reactions is one of those factors that are mentioned in the organic chemistry courses, but it seems nobody take it seriously. Though probably most of our readers will not benefit directly from these background concepts, we think the review we have selected this month is anyway worthwile reading. "High pressure in organic chemistry on the way to miniaturization", by Verboom et al. (Tetrahedron 2008, 64, 10023), covers the role of pressure in several chemical reactions with special emphasis on miniaturized systems.
