Bicalutamide is used with another medication (gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists, such as leuprolide or goserelin) to treat metastatic prostate cancer. Bicalutamide is in a class of medications called nonsteroidal antiandrogens. Bicalutamide acts as a pure anti-androgen by binding to the androgen receptor and preventing its activation by androgenic hormones. It is marketed by Astrazeneca under the Brand name: Casodex, Cosudex, Calutide, Kalumid.
We have successfully synthesized the Bicalutamide Sulfide. This will be of interest to pharmaceutical companies and analytical labs.
